Unfortunately, I believe I felt more at home at Blogger rather than WordPress. Don’t get me wrong, everything here’s so spiffy but I seem to still think of Blogger as my “mother” blog-hosting site…so I say one last farewell to a group of readers.
I’m back on Blogger and my posts will be live within the day. Hope you’ll keep on reading (:
Being a self-declared fashionista, I am extremely disappointed in myself that I had no idea what the CFDA Awards were. After a few early morning tweets, I have discovered that CFDA stands for The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. Everytime I see those four letters now, my fashion senses start tingling. So, let’s move onto the important things, no? Well, important things meaning best (and worst) dressed of the night.
Lady Gaga in a custom Mugler gown and teal wig
This one might be a bit controversial but all I can say is it was dramatic and it served its purpose. The corset, gown, and train was very Lady Gaga but not “over-the-top-meat-dress Lady Gaga”. It was stunning, breath-taking, and the teal wig just took it from over-the-top-gorgeous to drop-dead-gorgeous.
Whitney Port in Pamella Roland
The Body Peace Advocate for Seventeen looked simply stunning in her gown and simple accessories were matched beautifully. Her natural-shaded makeup pulled everything together and the entire thing was executed perfectly.
Chanel Iman in BCBG Maz Azria
The model definitely rocked the gown in four different ways:
1) The teal hue matched her skin tone perfectly
2) The golden heels were understated enough to give the gown the attention but wasn’t too understated that you wouldn’t be able to see them at all
3) The cuts on the gown accentuate her skin and body perfectly
4) Her silver and gold accessories matches the teal perfectly
The green of the jumpsuit was great, the hood was very meh, and the shoes were downright wrong for that gown. Karolina accessorized perfectly…down to the shoes. I normally don’t criticize outfits but I instantly thought “It’s Christmas already?”
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen
Once again, I’m critiquing because this really just shocked the heck out of me. I know some “hard-core” fashionistas may say “Oh, they’re geniuses!” but my mind screams, “Wow! No!” Ashley’s dress looks like it’s made for a middle school dance and her heels look like they were made for a grandma whose last wardrobe update was in 1800. And I can’t exactly say that I enjoy Mary Kate’s metallic golden jacket. Even though it’s Chanel, I can’t exactly look at it without a pair of sunglasses available. However, I must give them kudos for the handbags, they look gorgeous and it’s probably one of the only things I would wear out of their entire wardrobes.
Jessica Alba in Diane von Furstenburg
I can’t say I exactly hate what the mom-to-be’s wearing, but I can’t say I love it either. The boldly colored frock caught my attention, but I must say, it’s not one of my favorite color combinations. The hues could have been brighter and there could be a bit more orange up top but overall, I’d rate this, eh, 4/10.
And as a final note, I’m still editing and receiving pictures from my beach excursion on Saturday, so watch out for that post coming soon
Now that all my finals have been finished for school, I can finally put my attention on the more important things: preparations for graduation (or promotion…whatever you call it. Just know I’m going to high school in the fall) and blogging. Like I promised (or if I haven’t, I am now), I’m working on my blogging skills and I’m going to start posting frequently (possibly every day or so). So before I leave for the beach, I’ll post up a few pictures from yesterday.
As my friend was taking my pictures for me, she asked, “What’s your favorite designer? Rogue? Vanity Fair?”
I’m not quite sure we can be friends for much longer…

Yes, I am reading The Series of Unfortunate Events. The sheer impossibility of that ever happening in real life is one of the reasons why I enjoy it time after time…
And of course, being the kid I am, when the sprinklers turned on, I ditched my shoes and blazer and jumped right in…

Thanks to my brother for being patient and taking these pictures for me!
Today was one of the first days we got sunshine since Sunday and I can’t tell you how much I’ve missed my good friend. To celebrate, I compromised with the still slightly breezy weather by putting on a ¾ sleeve top with a pair of shorts and I then proceeded to prance around in my new fedora and bare feet around my front yard. In addition to that, my dad turned on the sprinkler to water our starving lawn and I pranced around in that as well (though stepping on dirt with wet feet didn’t exactly produce desirable effects…)
And now, for the first time ever, I have a question for you to answer and respond back! (albeit a rather general and unoriginal one) Which would you rather be? An intern with no pay for a prestigious magazine like Vogue or a $20/hour paid employee of some random office? Be honest! Fashion vs money…it’s a hard choice, even for me. I’d love love love to intern for Vogue or even Teen Vogue or Seventeen but I really need the dough…either way, I’m too young for either but some of you aren’t! So tell me, no-pay or pay?
Ash (in case you didn’t know, that’s Mandarin for “goodbye”. I need to learn it for high school, practice makes perfect, right?)
Face it. Everyone comes to Los Angeles for fun. Music because Hollywood is only ten minutes away, the amazing shopping areas, the gorgeous, accessible beaches, the people, the local tourist attractions…including Olvera Street which was the place I visited last night.
For the first time in months, I was able to hold a camera again! (albeit, a borrowed one, but a camera nonetheless) If you don’t know, my camera was broken a few months back due to the fact that I dropped it. (stupid, fragile Nikons. I like Canons better now.)
Anyways, that’s besides the point. We saw some pretty amazing things there, but, unfortunately, we were out of cash and couldn’t purchase much, but we took quite a few pictures and we’ll be back!
Hmm…this was my first time inserting a gallery, I think this works a lot better then inserting one image at a time…
And as this is a peaceful, spring-break Thursday, I’ve decided to post up a few images that make life enjoyable.
My ever messy makeup table
A pair of gorgeous heels with ruffles
A wall set aside for a pretty necklace, a picture, magazine covers, and various pieces of art
